Overview: Keeping current on the pressing issues affecting financial executives (including those in CPA Firms) requires a rigorous regimen of continuing education. Self study is one solution, but working and training in a conference environment with a group of your specific peers has its rewards. There are many providers of pre-packaged educational solutions who offer a wide range of topics. Often, however, the desired course is offered in a distant city and at a fairly significant cost.

Services: We offer seminars and conferences, up to eight-hours, on Complex Accounting and Corporate Governance topics only, and we bring those conferences to a location convenient to you. We have experienced conference leaders and a portfolio of pre-established topics to offer interested companies and CPA Firms. Of course, we provide the complete conference material for advance approval. In addition, we are, in some instances, willing to develop a conference tailored to the specific needs of interested parties. Please send us a note outlining your desired topic.

Case Study: A large, multi-office firm of Chartered Accountants in Toronto has several clients that report under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including some Issuers. They determined that their staff lacked a complete and thorough understanding of the nuances in accounting for Complex Financing Transactions under US GAAP. We developed a day-long conference that addressed their specific request of us, which was light on the theory and heavy on the practical application. We promptly developed a conference that focused on case studies ranging from the most rudimentary of issues to the highly-complex assessments required for derivative treatments embedded in hybrid instruments. Overall, the participants left the conference with a much-improved understanding and ability to identify the issues, and with the tools to help them address their clients’ needs in a timely manner.
